Timberland

Our Brands > Timberland

Originally founded in 1952 as the Abington Shoe Company, Timberland was one of the first to use injection-moulding to create virtually waterproof boots. In 1973, it introduced an iconic waterproof range of boots called “Timberland”, which were so successful that the company officially changed its name.

Timberland boots’ popularity sky-rocketed, and they have since become a fashion staple on a global scale.

Inspired by the company’s rich New England heritage, each design is tough, durable and eco-conscious. With sustainability at the core of Timberland’s culture, the company is dedicated to developing products and materials that have a reduced environmental impact.

AGL became the Australian Timberland distributor in 2012. The brand currently does approximately $1.5 billion in worldwide revenue.
